Loretta Clara Wassmann (Willemain), beloved mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away on March 7, 2017 at the age of 91.

Born on June 22, 1925, one of two identical twins, to the late August and Margaret Wassmann in Chicago IL.   She attended North Park Academy High School and Northwestern University where she was a member of the Chi Omega sorority. She graduated with a BS degree in 1948.  She was married to the late Raymond E. Willemain and raised their three children in Evanston, Ill. She worked for 14 years as the Executive secretary to the President of Kendall College in Evanston.  Loretta then moved to Ft. Lauderdale, Florida in 1983 where she lived for 26 years and managed Atlantic Towers, where she resided.  Loretta moved to Indianapolis, Indiana in 2009 to be close to family and lived at Marquette Manor Senior Living Community until she passed.

She leaves behind her son, Jeff Willemain (Chris), daughter Judy Paras (Brian), and son-in-law, Jim McDermott. She is survived by 7 grandchildren, Michael and Alexandra Willemain, Stephen and Allison Paras, and Geoff, Ryan and Kevin McDermott and 1 great grandchild, Conor McDermott.  She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sandra Lynn McDermott and her identical twin sister, Loraine Caroline Smith.  Loretta and Loraine were inseparable, often confusing friends who thought they saw one but it was the other. At the age of 17 the twins were runners up for being the most identical twins in the country.  Known as Nana 1 and Nana 2, the grandchildren enjoyed time with their cool look alike Nanas.  We know there is great joy in their being reunited.

Loretta did not want a formal visitation or funeral service.  Her ashes will be spread in the Atlantic Ocean down in Florida.  Friends and family are invited to gather from 11-1 p.m. on Saturday, March 25, 2017, at Marquette, 8140 Township Line Rd, Indianapolis. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor at littlesistersofthepoor.org or at 2345 W. 86th St. Indianapolis, IN 46260.  Condolences may be left online on Loretta’s memorial page at indianafuneralcare.com.
